There are a few reasons why your Instagram notifications may not be working. One possibility is that your phone’s network connection isn’t working properly.
Another possibility is that you’ve paused push notifications for the app. You can do this either from your phone’s settings or the app settings. To solve this problem, follow these steps:
1. Open the App
Several reasons can cause your Instagram notifications not to work. One of them could be because the app’s settings are disabled. To check if this is the case, first open the app and tap the three horizontal bars at the top right-hand corner of your screen. You’ll find a menu there that lets you enable or disable notifications for any specific type of content.
You can also disable Instagram push notifications altogether by tapping the “Notifications” option in your profile settings. This will stop you from receiving any push messages, meaning that new posts won’t appear on your phone or tablet. If you want to receive notifications again in the future, simply go back to your settings and turn them on.
Another reason why your Instagram notifications aren’t working might be because the Do Not Disturb feature is turned on. You can check if this is the case by opening the App Store and navigating to the Updates section. From here, you can see if there’s any pending updates for the Instagram app. If there is, you can tap the Update button to download and install it.
This may fix the issue, but if not, you can try clearing your app’s cache memory. To do this, you need to head over to your device’s Settings and then navigate to the Storage and Cache section. Once you’re there, you can clear the Instagram app’s cache memory by selecting it and tapping on Delete Cache.

2. Tap the Settings Icon

If you have an iPhone, you can also adjust your notifications directly through the iOS settings menu. Tap the Settings icon, which resembles a white gear on a colored background. Then, scroll down to Apps and you will see a list of all apps installed on your device. Select Instagram and make sure that the Notifications option is set to Allow.
Another possibility is that you’re not receiving Instagram notifications because your device is in Low Power mode. This feature is designed to conserve battery power and limit background activity, but it could prevent you from receiving important notifications. If you aren’t receiving notifications from any apps, try turning off Low Power mode to solve the problem.
3. Tap Notifications
If your Instagram notifications are switched on and the sound is turned up, but you’re not getting them, it could be because the app’s push notification settings are wrong. You can adjust the settings for push messages within the Instagram app itself, or from your phone’s Notifications menu.
This is where you can choose to receive notifications for everything from new followers and likes, to comments on your posts. You can also decide which types of notifications you want to get on the lock screen of your iPhone. You can also control whether or not you want to see your notifications history in the app.

4. Tap Instagram
If you are certain that the Instagram app has its notifications enabled, but you are not receiving any notifications on your iPhone, it is likely that there is an issue with one or more of the notification settings inside of the Instagram app itself. These include sounds, badge icons (which appear as numbers in the Instagram app when you have pending notifications), and showing notifications on lock screen. It can be very easy to adjust these options and accidentally turn them off or change the default setting for any of these features.
You can adjust the Instagram notification settings by opening the Instagram app and tapping your profile icon at the bottom of the screen. Then tap Notifications, and you can adjust any of the following:

Badge app icon – Allows you to enable or disable Instagram badge icons, which display the number of pending notifications in the upper right corner of the app.
You also can choose whether to enable or disable push notifications on the iPhone by opening the Instagram app and tapping your profile image at the bottom of the screen. If you disable push messages, you will not receive any notifications from Instagram for this account until you manually reactivate them on the app or your account.
If you have an Android device, you can find the same Instagram notification settings in your phone’s Settings app. This is typically found on the Home Screen, and the Settings app icon resembles a grey gear on a colored background. To access the Instagram settings, open your phone’s Settings app and scroll down to the Apps section. Then, tap the Instagram icon to open your app’s settings.
It is possible that you have set your iPhone to not allow any background data usage on the app, which could be preventing your Instagram notifications from working. To fix this, go to the Settings app and open the General section. Then, scroll down to the Background data usage option and tap it to change the toggle switch to a different position.
